Holiday Half-Price Sale
Dec. 14th, 2020 05:09 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
This week there is a half-price sale for all (or most) of
ysabetwordsmith's available poetry. I have a bit extra to spend this time, so I can go around the $200 range, and I am willing to run a pool if no one else wants to. A pool would net us the quarter price rate, so everything would be even CHEAPER and we could buy more poems. I don't think we could buy out the whole sale ($1915.50 at quarter price), but we could probably make a sizeable dent, if people want to join the bandwagon.
Below, I have listed my first four targets, along with all of their information, in case anyone is interested. This leaves about half my budget free for whatever strikes someone's fancy, though with no outside input I will tend towards the Polychrome Heroics poems.
So, if anyone has any ideas or input, let me know, and we'll see if we can buy lots of poetry!
First round targets:
HART'S FARM
"Inside, Outside, on the Floor"
At Hart's Farm, people often seek partners from outside.
54 lines, was $20, sale price $10, quarter price $5
SHIV
"Pie Day"
Story Date: Saturday, March 14, 2015
The Finns celebrate Pi Day.
364 lines, was $182, sale price $91, quarter price $45.50
"Mending the Broken"
Story Date: Wednesday, February 10, 2016
Summary: Still shaken up from the kidnapping attempt, Shiv turns to yarn as a calming method. It helps.
308 lines, was $154, sale price $77, quarter price $38.50
ARTS AND CRAFTS AMERICA
"A Gentle Whisper"
Story Date: 1961-2011
President Bob Ross.
214 lines, was $107, sale price $53.50, quarter price $26.75

I'm in!I
Date: 2020-12-15 01:35 am (UTC)Of poems that got missed
(But now they won't be missed)
There's overlap in the Shiv poems; I prompted "Pie Day" and wanted that one to get out there. But "Mending the Broken" is in there, too. I'm most interested in the Iron Horses, Kraken, and Big One threads, pretty much in that order.
I've earmarked a bit over $350 at quarter-price. Not sure I'm ready to go that high, but your $115.75 initial target round and my $159.50 initial target round (Iron Horses and Kraken) would be $265.25.
If we get $100 in additional pledges to a pool, that would be almost as much as the $103.25 to buy up the Big One thread. So I'm thinking we go for $200 to fund $100 in your stretch goals.
I have enough time to run a pool to avoid the CAD<->USD round-trip conversion for those of us south of your border. I will post the rest of my targets soon, and we can see where we stand. How does that sound?

Date: 2020-12-15 01:42 am (UTC)I'm comfortable putting in the remaining $85 of my budget, so we can allocate that as needed based on other interest.
Ysabet mentioned that she would like to see either or both of the Shiv mega-epics posted, and I agree. So maybe if you see which one you prefer, that can be our end game, leftover funds goal, with opening it for microfunding as a possibility if we get a good chunk but not the whole amount? (Hopefully that made sense.)

Date: 2020-12-15 01:54 am (UTC)You were, were you? Sounds like you've either got a good crystal ball, or you Know Something. I'm betting on the latter.
>> I'm fully on board with all your first round picks. I also like the Big One, so I'm good with that being a stretch goal. <<
OK, I'll open with my initial targets, mention that we're after $100 to buy the Big One thread, and are looking for enough to fund one or both of the big Shiv epics with a $125 head start. And if not enough comes through, why don't you pick the one to open?
I'll write this up and post it this evening. You should see it in your morning.

That sounds good to me. I'm hoping we get lots of interest, or maybe even some people who are interested in things other than Polychrome Heroics. Some of the other threads look quite intriguing, though Polychrome has kind of stolen my heart.
I will keep an eye peeled for your post, and if I get any interest on my end, I will direct them your way, to keep everything nice and neat.
