Weekly Update
Jun. 11th, 2020 08:48 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I didn't make a weekly post last week, though I did make a signal boost or two so I at least managed to put something up. The motivation just fled last week, though it seems to be back a little bit now.
Over the last two weekends, my dad came over and helped me with my tree trimming. The mountain ash (I think) in my backyard has a fork in it, and one side appeared totally dead. As it shares a fence with the alley, I really didn't want it coming down, possibly on a car or people. The dead bit has now been trimmed, and I'm hopeful that it will still get berries this year, and will be healthy next year.
I also have three lilac trees in my yard, two of which are older and varying degrees of overgrown. Those got trimmed as well, so the healthy bits are left and they got tangle with wires or neighbours fences. I also have more of my patio and sidewalk back now, since the branches that were low and overhanging have been cut back. I like the lilacs, but I would prefer it if they were slightly more tame than they are now. All that's left is to wait for next spring and see if I get flowers on them still. *fingers crossed*
I spent the better part of the last two weeks fighting (and losing) with the dishes, but I finally got them all done, and I even cleaned all the baking dishes right away after I made double chocolate chip cookies on Tuesday.
I haven't made much progress on the various indexing and edited tasks I have, but I did get a bit done, and I'm hoping to get more done soon.
All in all, this week has been better than last, and I'm hoping it continues. How are y'all doing?

Date: 2020-06-11 03:04 pm (UTC)...I have some trimming I need to do. My lilac is trying hard to eat the fence.
I'm... busy. Sad tired scared floaty, honestly. But I caught a brain-misbehavior yesterday, and if I can keep a rein on it, it ought to help with future brainweird too.

Date: 2020-06-11 10:57 pm (UTC)Good luck on that. The lilac at the front of the yard was trying to smother the patio and walkway, so it got a badly needing haircut. Now to finish tackling the bittersweet vines by the back fence...
That is quite a combination of feelings *hug* I hope things settle down a bit for you, and tomorrow has a slightly happier balance of emotions. Yay for catching brain-things though, and I hope it does help you down the road too.

Date: 2020-06-11 04:57 pm (UTC)I went mini fridge window shopping on Tuesday, and had a lovely dinner with a friend after, I'm trying to figure out which debts I can pay down or eliminate with unemployment, but that's about it.
I'ma need more coffee soon because I'm almost out, and I can't really afford bags of it right now (I's a sad, coffee it is my life right now)...but other than that I'm just like
...
Meh, let me just lay in bed while the world turns.

Date: 2020-06-13 12:33 am (UTC)I can't drink coffee right now, and I have loads of tea and things on my shelf
Re: coffee
Date: 2020-06-13 02:04 am (UTC)And thank you for the thought. I'm okay with just about any sort of coffee. Even decaff because I drink it as night time coffee sometimes. :)

Date: 2020-06-13 03:25 am (UTC)I would also be willing to pay shipping depending on how much they send/how big the box is. I wouldn't want any of the stuff to go to wast, so there's that, too. :)

Date: 2020-06-13 02:59 am (UTC)I don't drink coffee myself, but running out of something you enjoy and depend on is never fun.
I get the feeling of wanting to stay in bed and just not move. *sends cozy thoughts and hugs, in the hopes of adding a little bit of happiness if nothing else*

Date: 2020-06-14 12:59 am (UTC)Food helped with the lack of spoons a little bit, but not much. Sleep will have to do the rest.

Date: 2020-06-14 01:05 am (UTC)I need this thing by the end of June because reasons, and at Best Buy its $200, but it's store pick up only. That's $20 dollars cheaper than Target, so I may have to see if Best Buy still has that price and show it. Because it's...kind of the one I want since it has a big-ass freezer.
For your reference, if you want to take a look at the little beasty:
WH-31S1E I don't think the capitalizations matter, but that's the one I'm looking at. It's got the largest frezer compartment of the ones I've been looking at, and I like that.
Here's to fingers crossed that you get some good sleep.

Date: 2020-06-15 11:24 am (UTC)Here's hoping you can get what you want by the end of June. That looks like a very nice mini-fridge, I can see why you want that one.
I managed to get some decent sleep over the weekend, so hopefully this week is a but better.

Date: 2020-06-16 06:57 pm (UTC)And then I carried a fuckload of trash bags down the stairs so my room mate could drive them to the trash corrale. That's kinda become my job as both of them have heart conditions that make it difficult for them to do it on their own.

Date: 2020-06-17 11:18 am (UTC)Good for you, helping out where it is difficult for the others. Although I don't envy you making what sounds like multiple trips up and down the stairs, possibly with heavy bags in tow.

Date: 2020-06-19 07:55 pm (UTC)I sometimes wish I had someone to tell me to do the chores, but I frequently agrue when someone does tell me to. Figures that when you have help they would turn out to be an asshole.

Date: 2020-06-13 03:04 am (UTC)It is also good to know that one less fruitful year doesn't mean I wrecked things horribly, so thank you for that confidence boost. :)
