Comfort Corner

The carpet is thick, soft and cream coloured, while the walls are a yellow bronze colour. In the corner along one wall there is a large sofa, able to seat 4 or 5 people comfortably. Along the other corner wall there is a smaller sofa for 2 or 3 people. In the middle of the furniture, there is a low, round coffee table, perfect for colouring at or for other craft activities.

There is a scratching post and a cat tree for climbing, which are both along the wall opposite the couch. A few fluffy beds have also been put out, in varying sizes, in case any one prefers the floor. There is also a large sturdy perch and a marked off area that says "Landing Pad" in case any winged friends want to visit.

There is now a blue chaise chair in the nook as well, which has been placed near the couch and is good for both sitting and spreading out lengthwise.

There are two baskets off to the side. One contains fuzzy blankets, a variety of fuzzy and textured pillows, and a collection of stuffed animals while the other contains a variety of art supplies, ranging from colouring pages and blank paper to crayons and coloured pencils, and more besides.

Yes, snuggles! Oooo, scones. *nom nom* I have looked at the purple glitter tea at least twice, and I still don't remember if it is a flavour that appeals to me... *brings out a pot of earl grey just in case*

What do you like in tea, I forget? The purple tea is.... an interesting flavour. Not too sweet, but by no means bitter or astringent....

Not too sweet, and I prefer "spices" (chai tea, black tea, whatever the flavour typically is in those), as opposed to fruit or sugary things. The purple tea seems like it would be worth a try :)

I made this post based on ysabetwordsmith's idea of a Cuddle Party (link included so you can read her description of it, if you want.)

Essentially, this is a virtual space where people can gather and hang out, instead of (or in addition to) hanging out in person. It can be really useful if you are lacking company in real life, or if most of your DW friends are long distance. The description of the space is a little bit based on the upstairs of my house, but it is largely a fictional space.

As for the comments, well... It's kind of whatever you prefer. Most times, I will offer hugs or snuggles to people, and generally be close, because I like it and I don't get much IRL right now. Anything I share without quotation marks or asterisks is generally true, such as my discussion about not having pets above.

All people, pets and beings are welcome (I believe some people's cats have made an appearance before), and it can be as true or as fictional as you like (such as if you wanted practise exploring a characters personality for instance.)

Fuzzy J observes the pattern of spinning, then stands in a spot to intercept it, waiting calmly. Once jittery-flappy friend is in reach, J opens her arms and draws then into a tight hug. She then walks them backwards to the pile of pillows and flops them down, making sure she lands (gently) partially on top of flappyfriend. J is content to stay there as long as needed to help her friend calm down.

Morgan pads in shily, seemingly the only one around, until she's followed by Nadine. Her azure blue eyes sweep the area critically, looking for threats. She looks a bit like Clarien, she stands the same as he, but her hair is a long sable sweep that fans out near her waist.

She finds the floor very inviting, but knowing she's in a guest's space sits, instead, in the chaize, louging like the cat she is in another form. She floats a sticker that says 'no contact yet please' and closes her eyes briefly, only to open them again half a second later, unable to truly relax, even here, where they say she should be able to.

Nadine, meanwhile, had found a corner in which to curl up, not wishing to play at the moment, and she has closed her eyes for a long needed restbite from everything she's been doing of late. Her satyr's horns and hooves ar barely visible under the weighted blanket she's wrapped about herself for the pressure and comfort it provides.

Fuzzy J makes note of the new arrivals, happy to see them, even if they aren't quite comfortable yet.

She approaches Morgan first, calm and quiet, and hopefully coming off as friendly. "Hello, it's nice to meet you. I'm Fuzzy J. You are certainly welcome to sit on the floor if you'd like, with or without a pillow, though if you'd rather stay on the chaize that's ok too. I also have extra cushions and blankets if you want to build a fort; maybe having a private space would help you relax more?"

Invitation and welcome extended, J walks over to greet Nadine, hoping Morgan will be able to relax here, even a tiny bit.

"Hi Nadine. That looks quite cozy. Would you like something or someone to cuddle? I cuddle in this form and my kitty form, or I have various stuffed animals. Or you're welcome to stay just as you are. I'm glad you decided to come."

J gives a quiet smile, then settles somewhere in sight of both new guests, so she can make sure no one bothers them, and she can help them if needed. She picks another drawing in her book and sets to colouring in the mean time, just happy to have people around.

Morgan blinks a bit. "You-youan blanket forts aren't j-just for babies and kids?" Her parents hadn't said this, but she'd heard it often enough from other parents and people that she'd figured it must have something to it. "I'd-I think I'd...like that, actually."

Nadine pokes her head out of the blanket the rest of the way, and greets J with a slow smile, "Maybe a stuffed cat? I would like to cuddle you later, but...right now I am too afraid of squeezing the life out of your pour dear kitty form."
